David Bailey launches a range of fitted furniture for the education sector

Top marks for David Bailey Furniture Systems

David Bailey Furniture Systems has launched a new, specially designed fitted furniture range exclusively for the educational sector.

David Bailey, already well known as a leading manufacturer of fitted furniture for the healthcare sector, has designed this new Educational range to be both aesthetically pleasing and durable.

One of the first schools to benefit from the new furniture range is Torbay School, based in Paignton, Devon. The school, which specialises in the particular needs of children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, employed the services of a colour consultant when planning its interior design. The consultant confirmed the view that warm pastel colours are needed to create a non-threatening, calm learning environment for the students. David Bailey Furniture Systems provided the perfect solution to this requirement with its range of pastel coloured furniture. The furniture range helped create a calm and welcoming atmosphere, combined with a modern look that complemented the overall decor.

The recently completed new build project that was managed by main contractor Midas Construction is built on two levels, with a total of 26 rooms, 14 of which are classrooms. David Bailey fitted furniture was specified for two primary classrooms, as well as the art room, science laboratory, staff room, food technology room and careers service area.

In the science laboratory, David Bailey Furniture Systems incorporated a hexagonal unit to accommodate six students, together with built-in shelving and a lockable cupboard. The central portion of the unit houses a gas tap for Bunsen burners and plug points.

Trevor Gillman, managing director of David Bailey Furniture Systems, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our operations to include fitted furniture for the educational sector. The Torbay School fit-out has been a fantastic success, with both teachers and students very pleased with the results. This success, along with other fit-outs, such as in Mayfield School, is evidence that David Bailey has a lot to offer this sector.”

David Bailey Furniture Systems provides a swift turnaround time for orders, and also offers an installation service, if required. The bespoke service allows architects and specifiers the freedom to be creative with their design. The new furniture range is offered in a wide range of colours and all units are available with optional locks for added security.
