About this project
A school renovation project at Warwick Preparatory School is now equipped with our education furniture range in six classrooms. To complete this project we worked with Robothams Architects and Benfield Construction.
“The Warwick Preparatory School renovation project has used David Bailey for previous classroom refurbishment programmes, so we were confident that their furniture would do the job. Their units are sturdy and robust and can be adapted to suit different classroom layouts.” Sarah Budd, Bursar at the school.
We manufactured education furniture as follows:
- 6 classrooms
- Beige and royal blue colour scheme
- Floor mounted storage units
- Wall mounted storage units
- Storage trays
Education furniture for Warwick Preparatory School
The project involved the refurbishment of six classrooms at the independent day school. David Bailey supplied furniture to match the school’s existing colour scheme of beige and royal blue, comprising floor and wall-mounted units, worktops, storage trays and shelving.
Creating a happy and secure atmosphere is important to the independent primary school, so special care was taken in selecting suitable fixtures and fittings to ensure the children’s wellbeing. Safety features included recessed door handles and safety catches on cupboards.
Warwickshire Preparatory School is an independent day school for boys aged three to seven and girls aged three to 11 years. Over 450 children attend the primary school, which is part of the Warwick Independent Schools Foundation, the governing body for Warwick School for boys and King’s High School for girls.

Education furniture installations
Our specialist education furniture is installed in many schools, colleges and further education facilities. We have recently been selected by main contractor E W Beard to manufacture furniture for Headington Girls School in Oxford, in a £65,000 contract. This will be for 45 units and 100 metres of worktop in 11 classrooms. The work will start in November 2020. Other education customers include:
- Yateley Community School, Hampshire
- Channing School, London
- University of Wales
- Clore Shalom School, Hertfordshire
Architects and Contractors rely on us because they know we are well established and professional and our durable furniture is manufactured in Britain with craftsmanship and professionalism. We also install our own furniture into a facility, so there is no need to ensure a contractor has installation instructions.
School rebuilding programme
Update July 2020: We welcome the recent pledge by the prime minister, Boris Johnson, to provide a £1bn schools rebuilding programme over a 10-year investment plan for upgrades and refurbishments. This is the first major schools rebuilding programme since 2014 and will make sure our schools and colleges are fit for the future. It is part of the prime minister’s plan to provide a world-class education for children and to help the economy bounce back from this year’s coronavirus crisis.
