About this project

We have supplied fitted education furniture for the TreeHouse Pears National Centre for Autism Education in Muswell Hill, North London, a specialist primary and secondary school for children and young people with autism.

Specified by Nightingale Associates, furniture to the value of £44,200 from our education range of fitted furniture was used for the specialist school installation.

“We wanted to choose a cool and refreshing colour scheme to create a calm environment where the children can both learn and play. Also important was the selection of robust hinges and joinery to ensure optimum safety.” Gill Bierschenk, Executive Headteacher at TreeHouse.

Education furniture for TreeHouse Pears National Centre

In the classrooms and staff room, fitted furniture with a natural colour palette was chosen to inspire a calm and relaxed atmosphere for the children. A cool soothing colour scheme of turquoise wall-hung and floor-mounted units and white worktops was used to furnish the medical rooms. In the teaching kitchens, metallic-coloured worktops were chosen to complement the kitchen furniture, including ovens and washbasins.

TreeHouse primary and secondary school furniture

TreeHouse School is part of TreeHouse, the national charity for autism education. TreeHouse was founded in 1997 by parents of children with autism and today the charity campaigns for better autism education nationally and runs a school for children and young people with autism. Education furniture installations

Made in BritainOur specialist education furniture is installed in many schools, colleges and further education facilities. We have recently been selected by main contractor E W Beard to manufacture furniture for Headington Girls School in Oxford, in a £65,000 contract. This will be for 45 units and 100 metres of worktop in 11 classrooms. The work will start in November 2020. Other education customers include:

  • Yateley Community School, Hampshire
  • Channing School, London
  • University of Wales
  • Clore Shalom School, Hertfordshire

Architects and Contractors rely on us because they know we are well established and professional and our durable furniture is manufactured in Britain with craftsmanship and professionalism. We also install our own furniture into a facility, so there is no need to ensure a contractor has installation instructions.

School rebuilding programme

Update July 2020: We welcome the recent pledge by the prime minister, Boris Johnson, to provide a £1bn schools rebuilding programme over a 10-year investment plan for upgrades and refurbishments. This is the first major schools rebuilding programme since 2014 and will make sure our schools and colleges are fit for the future. It is part of the prime minister’s plan to provide a world-class education for children and to help the economy bounce back from this year’s coronavirus crisis.
