This autumn work on the Salfords Custody centre is scheduled for completion and David Bailey Furniture Systems has supplied and fitted custody suite furniture as part of the project to the approximate value of £12,000.
The Staff Room, Meal Prep Room, Teapoint, Custody Charge Area, Image Capture Room, Medical Room, Search Room and Intoximeter were all furnished with David Bailey’s worktops, base units and wall units from the company’s Healthline range of fitted furniture.
Ben Gandy, site agent with Swift Southern Limited, worked on the Salfords Custody Centre job and took delivery of the Healthline products.
He said: “This is the first time we’ve worked with David Bailey Furniture Systems and I’d certainly work with them again.
“On this project we were using 25-30 subcontractors on site. David Bailey was one of the few we had no problem with. Everything was delivered on time and the David Bailey staff on site were very helpful.”
“We were also really pleased with the Healthline furniture itself. It was all specified during the design and everything delivered came in accordance with that specification.”
David Bailey has previously worked on similar public sector contracts such as HM Prison Cardiff, Swinfen Hall Young Offenders Institute in Staffordshire, Lewes Prison, Ashford Prison and Peterborough Prison among others.
Salfords Custody centre in Redhill, Surrey, was designed to replace the current aging facilities at Reigate Police station. Salfords will have 24 holding cells and is being built as part of a plan to “evenly spread” custody centres out across the country to allow officers “to return to frontline policing duties” far more efficiently.
